There are plenty of reasons to watch Asian Dramas. Here's some of my list:
1. There are plenty of gorgeous male and female leads to swoon over.
2. Many of the dramas are good, well acted and modest. Yes, there is kissing in Asian Dramas but I find them far more modest than regular American TV shows like Gossip Girl.
3. Many Dramas are live adaptation of mangas, manhwas and manhuas. Don't know what mangas are? Well, they are basically Japanese style comic books. Manhwas are the korean comic books and Manhuas are Chinese comics.
4. You want to experience a new culture. Yes, they are TV shows so you do have to keep in mind what is shown in Japanese drama is not the norm for most Japanese folks. However, you do get some interesting tidbits about the culture.
5. You want to be entertained. I find Asian dramas to be far more entertaining than the boring American tv shows that seem to dish out the same stuff every year. I mean, seriously how many crime procedural dramas are they going to make?
So, now that I've given you plenty of reasons to try watching dramas from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, Go ahead and watch an Asian drama this Christmas!
