Satyamev Jayante: a show to warm your soul

So, I finally watched the much touted show helmed by Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. The show which is a talk show modelled on Oprah talks about issues usually not discussed openly in India. The first three episodes discussed topics such as Female Infanticide, Child Sexual Abuse and Dowry. Aamir handled each topic with sensitivity and loads of empathy. I also liked how the show had done its research thoroughly. The shows covers all of India not just the Hindi cow belt region. Although, the show is in Hindi, it is dubbed in several regional languages. I loved the music at the end of each episode that sums up the feelings of that episode. Now, I am not naive and think India's problems will be magically solved by 1 show. However, the show does bring to light taboo topics in India and facilitates discussion. That in itself is the first step in tackling such societal evils. You can find the show on Youtube, on the website Satyamev Jayate. It is also eng subbed on Youtube. BTW, I am in love with the official theme song. Enjoy :D

P.S: I also like that Aamir doesn't just preach. The audience and the viewers can actively take part by signing petitions and supporting charities.
