Gummy's Japanese debut and Shinee's Japanese Lucifer!

Here are two songs that couldn't be more different. Whereas Gummy's song sounds exquisite in Japanese, Lucifer doesn't fare that well. Moreover, the stylist spent a lot of effort to dress the guys in hideous outfits. WTH was on Taemin's head? Gummy also wins 'cause she's got T.O.P!

2PM "I am your man"

I preferred 2PM's Japanese single, " I am your man" more than Shinee's. Maybe it's because their single is original. I liked the video and how the guys were styled. They look very sharp in those suits.

So, here is the long awaited Juliette video of Shinee in Japanese. My take is that why did they have to incorporate those ugly masks. Gah! Boys look good though and dance well. Okay, Key was styled badly and put in that ugly pink monstrosity. But, the boy is so fine, he can make anything look decent.

Hana Kimi Japanese Version 2.0

So, they are doing another live action of Hana Kimi in Japan. I don't really see the need to remake it but I guess there was a demand? I would've rather preferred that they had a done Japanese live action of Skip Beat or Ouran High school Host Club. AKB48's Maeda Atsuko will star in it. Don't know if she is a good actress but I do like few of their songs.

I am not a big anime watcher. I prefer to read mangas/manhwas. But, occasionally I do check out the animes and some of them have great opening and ending soundtracks. Here are some of my favourite.

A is for Arashi

Like Kat-Tun, I am going to introduce Japanese boy bands to people who don't know anything about them. Why the introduction? Well, I believe in sharing good things and Japanese boy bands are awesomely addictive.  Arashi is a platinum selling, Oricon topping boy band. Like Kat-Tun, it was created by the Johnny and associates talent agency. FYI, this agency churns out some of the hottest Japanese idols like Jin Akanishi. Arashi consists of five members Kazunari Ninomiya, Masaki Aiba, Jum Matsumoto, Satoshi Ohno, and Sho Sakurai. All these members are very popular/visible on television. I'd say after SMAP, Arashi has been the most popular boy band in terms of success. KAT-TUN and NEWS I think are respectively third and fourth. I am putting a video of their songs.  They've got many no.1hits and picking just one as an example was hard. So, based on my mood today, I decided to pick this. It is called Love Situation. Enjoy:D

KAT-TUN, Egypt and Skip Beat (weird combo, I know).

First of all, I've deleted my last post on immigration in Canada because I want to do a proper review and response to the TVO series. The new post hopefully should be on my next Sunday.

I know I said this blog will mix asian pop culture and politics but I haven't really posted much. What's going on in Egypt, Yemen and Tunisia is relevent to everyone in the world. I think the "revolution" is too fresh and I am still waiting more information before I do a post on it.

Now to more fun topic, not that Skip beat ain't fun, I am introducing one of the best Japanese boy bands, KAT-TUN. Many of you may know Jin Akanishi has left the band. Yes, it made me sad because I think he and Kamenashi make a good couple team.

Okay, I want Jin to comeback because I miss them together. I know there are rumors that they are not on good terms. Atleast that's what i've gleaned from youtube comments on their videos. I know not a reliable source but I heart these guys. Seriously, look at them. They are so hot;D
